The Primary Assets module is used to record and manage the main elements of the organization that represent direct value or are essential for the functioning of key processes. These are mainly data, services, processes or aspects that are subject to protection from an information and cyber security perspective.

Primary assets are the entry point for other analyses within the system – for example, risk scenarios, risk analysis or incident management. The relationships between primary assets and supporting assets, measures, threats and vulnerabilities are defined by the manager based on knowledge of the real environment or with assistance during implementation.

System logic ensures that links between elements are established only in accordance with the defined structure, thereby preventing errors and increasing the reliability of the information managed. The primary assets thus form the cornerstone of the entire risk management system.
